The life of the original Ausralian Boardshort, the Okanui  began in Australia back in 1956,after a visiting American swim team bought some of their Surfboards out and showed the Aussies the art of surfing.

Soon after this Australian Surfboard manufactures emerged and started making their own Surfboards or "Okanui's", as they were referred to at the time.With this came the need for a type of short that could be worn in the water that stopped the inside of surfers legs from chaffing.

Enter,a man by the name of Dick Ash!.........

Dick started making the first cotton canvas Okanui's from old postal bags for some of his mates, they loved them...........and the rest as they say is history!!

To this day the Okanui boardshort is still loved by guys from around the globe and has grown to become what it is today.

The Okanui is available in a variety of colours and designs,all beautifully constructed from hard wearing, but incredibly comfortable hand printed cotton.
